It’s all too much, everything is too much these days!

Want to be a successful Poker Player? How much do you really understand the game? How much are you willing to invest in developing yourself? Mindset, performance, technical skills, soft skills, each one of these is a world on its own, how much do you know about each?

Trying to start a company? What’s your strategy? What’s your budget? How will you meet the demands of the market? Have you thought about operations, marketing, accounting, projects, finance, customer service? What about your products, what will you offer?

Want to invest?: “You should read book X!”, “You should read book Y!”, “You have to take this course!”, “Have you thought about your portfolio?”, “What about your own personal finances, are they well taken care of?”.

Want to lose/gain weight? “Watch out what you eat!”, “Your macros, are you eating enough?”, “What supplements do you take?”, “Are you sleeping enough?”, “Does work stress you out?”, “You should hire a personal trainer!”, “You have to consult a nutritionist!”.

Here’s the world we live in: 2021, whatever it is you want to talk about, whatever it is you want to do, there’s so much stuff out there for you to learn, to consult, to check, to obtain, to analyse. We’ve reached the point where anything is too much for the human brain right now.

Here’s a fun fact (this blew my mind, don’t ask me how I know this): apparently just on 2019, a very famous “adult content” website added 1.36 million hours of new content, which would take you 169 years to watch!

Well, better get started…

Just kidding, like I have time for that… I’m a Poker player and I run a company…

Alright, so here’s where I’m going with all of this, June 8th of The Daily Stoic:

“Brick by boring brick… You must build up your life action by action, and be content if each one achieves its goal as far as possible…”

The author goes on the explain the concept of “The Process”, in which you, as a human being, in several moments (especially in the world we live in) will benefit from ignoring the big picture. Look at only what is ahead of you and try to do it as well as you can.

Why am I bringing this topic? More often than not, I’ve been having conversations where I see people anxious, worried, stressed. When I’m able to reflect upon the topic, 99% of things that they worry, stress and are anxious about, is completely outside of their control.

The best part? I also see myself in these scenarios, I wish I could talk to my younger version about the ability to “Trust the process”. Take one thing at a time and do it well, what’s in your control?

Alright then, so “what’s the process?”, or “which process should I trust?”.

Look, I don’t have all the answers, but if you want to be a successful poker player, we at Poker Ambition made a very great process for you to follow, check it out, this is in your control! 😉
