“In war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.” Sun Tzu.

In his book, The Art of War, the Chinese general explains various philosophy’s about warfare. His philosophies are used in various fields and poker should be no different.

You are probably already using this philosophy in poker, when you avoid stronger players and look for fun players to play against for example. Or when you make a hero fold or hero call, you have identified a range construction on the river that you perceive to be to weak or too strong and thus strike or avoid accordingly.

Identifying on the poker tables what kind of actions are generally strong so we can avoid putting more money in the pot, and spotting what is weak so we can invest more is one of the best ways to increase your winrate! What do you generally perceive to be strong or weak?
