A common trait amongst high stakes players is that they are always curious and looking to learn.
Whether they have been playing for 5 years or 25 years, they never lose that curiosity for the game.
They are obsessed with improving and are able to learn from all types of players.
Low and mid stakes players on the other hand, often label players as “good” or “bad” and as a result they can miss valuable learning opportunities.
Rather than asking “what can I learn from this player?”, they are quick to judge their opponents play.
By asking inquisitive questions like the one above, you trigger your curiosity which opens the doorway for learning to occur.
So drop the labels and judgements and treat every spot you find yourself in as a potentially valuable opportunity to discover something new.
